Dogs like to steal the toilet paper roll and play with it or roll it allllllllllll oveeeeeer the house....it's kind of good ol' conection :P *yeah, stupid one, too*
*and yeah...the symbol of softness....either there's a baby or doggie or kittie....just something soft/smooth :p*

I am not sure where you have been but I've seen the bears and toilet paper commercials. Besides people consider pet commercials cute and soft.
