Your neighbor may be looking for your financial documents. I am serious about this. It happened to me in January. I had taken the trash out on trash day early in the morning when it was still dark. A little later I felt the need to look out my front window. A white van pulled up to my house and started ripping the trash bags open. I went out to ask what he wanted, he turned, not saying anything, and got in the van and took off. Thankfully, he wouldn't have gotten anything because I burn all documents.

We have a couple of soda can collectors around here, too. It is a way for them to get some money. I will separate the cans if I know for sure they will come for them. I appreciate it if they don't leave my trash can area a mess. I think it is more of a desperate act of a person in poverty. But look at all of those well heeled people who love to get together and go dumpster diving??

its a little strange and desperate...maybe you should just bag your cans seperate and give them to him...we use to that for our neighbor...he was this old man who collected cans...so we would just always have a seperate bag for him....
