Unfortunately, a LOT of people don't read the entire question. And a LOT of people answer questions just to criticize, be a smarta** , or just ramble on about things they know nothing about. Welcome to reality.

I just looked at your original question and the answers about the sensors seem reasonable. Just because they are lit, doesn't mean they are aligned or the sensor circuit is complete back to the logic board.

The safe mode is for the door to open. That is probably why it goes up OK.

I think people are trying to give the best answers they can, but they are not in the garage with you. They have to rely on the information you give in the question to make the best guess they can.

All your information indicates misaligned sensors or something in the way of the beam. The only other situation that I've seen is having two garage doors side by side and the sensor from the other door interfering.

I think some people answer just to get their points up, why bother answering it all you are going to say is " I don't know" it is annoying. as to the statement below your question I do not know anything about safety sensors. You probably did make yourself clear, its like I said above.

I understand your frustration, I too have been frustrated at times over the same thing. And on the other hand, I think most of us at one time or another ( or at least I know I have) has been guilty of answering a question poorly. So I guess we just have to take the bad with the good. Having said that, I do agree it can be frustrating.

I'm sorry, I think I said lay under the door to see if the sensors work. If I don't hear back from you I'll call 119.
