I know you said you wanted males only but I have something to add from a female perspective.
In my area, there aren't a lot of doctors... I HATE my male doctor and would love a female, but at the time there weren't any in my area. When one came available, there were so many people without, that when I inquired about switching doctors I was told that they're not taking people who already have doctors, just people without them.
There are more male doctors then there are female....so for that reason, a lot of females have male doctors. We don't all like them but we don't always have a choice in the matter.
Now, as for what goes on in a physical: you get breast exam done in order to check for lumps for cancer... and I've always had my doctor wear gloves when I've had physicals done... I think it's the law.
The other half of a physical is a pap smear. This checks for abnormal cell growth and other things that could be wrong inside your body. There's a fair amount of poking that takes place (2 fingers are inserted and the other hand is placed on the belly and pressed in feeling for ovaries) and then a metal, sometimes plastic, instrument that's inserted into the womans vagina. Then there is a giant q-tip inserted to take a swab of cells which are then sent off to the lab.
All in all, it's uncomfortable and from my point of view, embarrassing.
I think it all comes down to your personal comfort level when it comes to the sex of your dr.... I know being a heavier woman, i would feel more comfortable with a female dr just because when you think of men you think of them judging you by the way you look and also it could be a way of "getting off" for them...getting to see a naked girl and "play" with her and get paid for it. One thing for all men to know: whoever performs the physical, be it male or female, there is a nurse in the room as well to make sure that everything is done professionally.
As for how I'd feel if my husband went to a female dr...I wouldn't care because if that was the only dr he could get then that's fine, but I know for a fact he wouldn't if it was by choice. He has told me he would not feel comfortable seeing a female dr and having her touch him for a physical... I personally feel that if you're that worried about your significant other getting turned on or cheating on you with her practitioner than you have something else wrong with your relationship and you should seriously talk with her.

He says, "I'd rather if your doctor was female, but it's not like some porn situation is going to start up. It's a medical exam!" Hahaha, yea. Seriously...you're joking with this question right?? There is nothing sexy about going to the gyno. If a doctor did anything inappropriate, I'd sue 'em for sexual harassment. What would the need for gloves be during a breast exam?? It's just skin. If you are curious as to what goes on during a physical, just ask your lover. She'll tell you what each step is and why it's done. You sound like a creepy weirdo.

You're now getting to an age where your breasts are developing, and your doctor should be making sure they're growing right. Also, now that they're more developed, you're at risk for breast cancer. When he asked you how you felt your breasts, he probably meant something like "Do you check your breasts for lumps?" This is a description of a normal physical exam much like the ones I got as a teenager from my (female) pediatrician. If you still feel uncomfortable with what happened, bring it up with your school counselor, parent, or someone at the doctor's office. Don't be afraid to ask the doctor to explain the usual procedures for a physical exam, and why exactly he needs to examine your breasts and inside your underwear. I'm sure he would be happy to go over everything with you! If he's a pediatrician, especially an older one, I'm sure he is used to getting questions from teenagers who are a little shy about their bodies and are getting used to being in charge of their own healthcare. If, however, you still feel weird about your doctors appointments, feel free to have a parent go with you next time. This is the kind of rumor that could ruin the career of a pediatrician... If you have more questions about whether or not his actions were appropriate, please make sure you remove his name, your name, and any identifying details from anything you post on a public forum (like you did with this post). Don't publicly slander a good doctor--it would be a shame to ruin the career and the life of someone who has devoted their life to helping others.

Well, since I've been in the profession over forty years, I can tell you it's just about impossible for anything naughty to go on in the doctor's office or examining room. We do not conduct any physical examination of a female patient without another woman present - one of our office nurses, to be precise. Look, being charged with inappropriate behavior can cost us our licenses, our liberty and our income. I myself am one of the horniest men alive, but the cost of doing something stupid with a patient is just too high!

Our family physician (IMO) has an attraction for my wife. It seems like everytime she goes in for an appointment, no matter for what (she has a cold, has tendonitis in her elbow, etc), he feels the need to examine her breasts. I'm not kidding, the man ALWAYS wants to examine her breasts.
To make matters more weird, he recently made the statement that
"If anything ever happened to your husband, I'd take care of you."
I think the man is a pervert and I don't think I'll be going back there anymore,

dude I hang with doctors all the time. They are just as perverted as all other guys, They have to act professional but they are still dudes. If your wife is hot, they are so checking her out sexually. It's human nature. Trust me, I get drunk with docs alll the time.
