Because they have the power and we don't. The laws are supposed to apply equally to all but lets face it, cops break the law all the time. And then they wonder why other people don't respect it? Get a clue.

I dated a cop once & when I asked him this question...he said it because SOMEONE has to show us peons what NOT to do.....

I really think it is because they think they are above the law...that it doesn't pertain to them..since they are the ones enforcing it....

In the town I live in....a small town in TX....we have a hotline we can call & turn our local law enforcement in for breaking the law...LOL...I don't know what happens to them...but I have actually called once for a cop, not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign...with me having right of way...& I almost hit him as he darted out in front of me.....then he blipped his siren at me..& wagged his finger...like blaming me for his screw up....A** hole....LOL...

I don't know the real reason though...I sure would like to know..

Because they have to be able to enforce the law or get to an accident, they can't go with the flow or nothing would get done. They would be trapped with the rest of the crowd.

Because they have a badge that allows them. See how many also don't wear seat belts too?
