3970010 cast number denotes that it is a 350 small block used between 1969 and 1979 and had anywhere from 185 to 375 horsepower depending on the application.

also the 010 block could come with either 2 or 4 bolt mains. i have seen alot more 4 bolt mains than 2 bolt with the 010 numbers. chevy has manuals available that will explain in detail what the numbers mean exactly and cover just about every GM block, head intake crank and so on..
