Are you sure it is on top of the line? Federal law prohibits the building of living structures "on top" of main petroleum or gas lines. The weight of the building can actually fracture the line. Also digging the foundation can damage the line.

Gas stations have to have millions of dollars of insurance if their tanks are underground, just to cover the liability of a leak. It could migrate under a structure rendering it unserviceable due to fumes.

The race track in KC had to be changed because it was adjacent to a main gas line. While it was unlikely to damage the line they limit the building of structures so as to limit the risks involved.

No. Are you kidding. That can`t be legal to sell unless proper easements and codes are met.
