Mercedes rebadged the Sprinter as a Dodge, does selling off Chrysler mean that Sprinters will once again be Mercedes vehicles?

Will Chrysler be allowed to continue making the SLK-ish Crossfire?

The company is called Daimler Chrysler. There not seperate. I have never heard of a vehicle made by Daimler. And the the Sprinter van is made by Dodge and Mercedes has there own too, both of which are owned by Daimler Chrysler

Before Dodge became part of DCX, the Sprinter was (and still is) marketed under the Freightliner nameplate by Mercedes (as big D stated) in selected states. This van was not manufactured for the US market, therefore, assuming the Sprinter is selling well enough, it will not disappear regardless of what happens to the Chrysler Group. Since DCX has usually sold trucks in the US under a local badge, not "Mercedes", one would assume this would be true in the future as well. Also, I would assume that the Crossfire will sink or swim based upon its present and future sales, not who owns the parent company.

In essence Daimler is Mercedes and should they divest of the Chrysler division it is possible that a deal with the new buyer could mean that some profitable lines can continue to be jointly marketed like the Sprinter van. Otherwise it would seem that at least publically Daimler
management wants to consolidate Chrysler operations and continue with group wide vehicle platform sharing to benefit from economies of scale. We'll have to see how successful their execution will be; that will dictate whether Chrysler is still part of DC.
