We moved into our home this last summer. As my husband and I were doing some backyard landscaping we had a radio on in our patio, but it was at a level that we could bearly hear, however our neighbor( old and single), came over to tell us to turn it down. She has numerously knocked on our door to tell us to put the music down when my boys have it on in their bedrooms too. I have decided to allow the kids to play music, and play video games in the garage, but we followed the ordinance, that noise needs to be off by 10 pm, and that we should stand in front of our house and make sure we can't hear it from the sidewalk. We have followed all the rules, but she still calls the COPS on us, she even called the COPS because my boys were playing with pallet guns around the house. What can I do to have her stop complaining. Can I make a complaint about her nusance. She don't let us enjoy our home for one second. My Boys are teens, Young Marines and CERT certified, we are a Christian Family.

Have a talk with her and ask her why she is trying to make your families life miserable for and see if there is a way to work out your differences

Give yourself an alibi then pay someone to egg or toilet paper her house or collect evidence and sue her for harassment. If it happens every time if you can hire or ask a police officer to come to your house (not in a patrol car). Turn the music to a reasonable level and if the cop is there he can say that it wasn't loud

Sounds like someone needs to turn their hearing aids down to normal-human-hearing levels...;-)

I think you should file a complaint about her nuisance. And if the cops come over again, let them know about her bickering.

First of all, telling me that you are a "Christian Family" doesn't help the situation. Second, your neighbor is just a fool. If you can barely hear it yet your neighbor can hear it loud and clear, either you have hearing loss (which I doubt) or your neighbor is just overly sensitive.

If your neighbor can hear your music, it is too loud. You are a nuisance when you permit your activities to spill over to your neighborhood.

And, what in the he11 does being christian have to do with it. Do you suppose that being a christian family permits you to be annoying? Why don't you adopt the worn-out christian saying "love they neighbor as thyself"....

i was just going to side with that sweet, little, old lady, and to ask you to show more respect to the elderly. but because you're a CHRISTIAN, then i might have to side with you on this one, because i know that a Christian family could never be in the wrong.

so my advice is to take the old bat to court for harassment. you have rights too.

Take her to court and let the judge decide who is at fault. Good Luck!
