I don't believe that's highly true...
Well, My Grandpa & Dad have highly impeccable handwriting & my Dad has big manly hands. My husband has very neat writing, too. There's alot of guys that I've known (thru notes at schoool, etc.) that had ledible handwriting. The questioner didn't say the "prettiest" but the most "legible."
Plus, I've seen guys' handwritings in a professional manner (at workplaces) & most were legible & neat. Not always perfect spelling & gramatically pleasing, though! But, again, most were!!! :)

Yes, there is a reason behind it too. Women have more highly developed fine motor skills than men do. Crochet, knitting, writing, etc. Men tend to be better at the more "sporty" and physical activities, so their hands aren't as adjusted to writing. But they tend to be better at basketball, lifting weights, carpentry, stuff like that. Or so I read.

Great question. Males seem generally more careless than women in many ways.. messier in general, far less meticulous. But females also seem to have much more fine motor dexterity than males, which may be part of the answer.. for instance, in most fine watch (time piece) manufacturing companies, it's women that have the fine steady hands to be able to assemble fine jewel movements, not men.
Females, as a general rule, are better communicators then men.. and written communication may be perceived as more important to women just by that fact.

I'd guess that women tend to me more spatially oriented and concerned with the aesthetics of presentation. Men may be more inclined to view handwriting solely in functional terms.

Female wrist bones mature sooner in pre-teens. That's when both male and female are developing writing skills, among other things such as basketball. Therefore, female cursive writing is better, and more elaborate, in the beginning and usually stays that way.

I have noticed that too. I'm not sure why, but if I had to guess... I'd say that women care more about the image they project, even in their handwriting.

don't you mean why, oh well, the answer is simple, women care more about the looks of the letters and men are more practical: write fast don't care if that can be understood for others as long as they understand.women add hearts to the i, and little details like that making nicer letters.
