I'd like to propose something...Hormel, parent company to Spam the canned meat, is regularly having to sue others for the improper use of the word when referring to spam, the abomination in every email account...what if we all decided to start spelling it "spamm?" Hormel could get a break from the court room and since it means junk email, a superfluous letter tacked on to the end of the word seems appropriate.

For the record, I am in no way, shape or form affiliated with Hormel, but I did enjoy grilled Spam while camping a long while back. It tastes different in the woods.

Usually the food Spam is just spelled with a capital "S" -- whereas SPAM is all capitals and some say it is an acronym for "Selective Promotion Advertising Mail." However, I rather think it was first referred to as SPAM and then someone attached acronmyn meaning. You can decide for yourself what you think by accessing the links below.

Regardless -- Hormel has enough to worry about regarding its product without fighting an endless battle to stop calling unsolicited e-mail SPAM!

I like Spam (the Hormel product). How about if we spell it CRAP? I don't understand how it came to be known as spam in the first place....some sort of acronym perhaps? Anyway, I do agree that we need to rename it, but it should be a 4-letter word since most bad words have 4 letters.

Why doesn't Hormel just call their product "Spiced Ham"? That name sounds a little more appetizing to me. If they called it "Spiced Ham," I might consider it to be a finer quality meat. The word "spam" somehow reminds me that it's a gelatinous meat from a can.

that is a great idea!

or maybe Hormel could change the name of their product to something like "yummy stuff in a can if you are in the woods".

-i like your idea better.

have a nice day!
