I upgraded to Windows Vista....and now I have no sound. I dont know what has happened. My computer is detecting my sound card. It also states that my sound device is working properly but I have no sound what so ever. I have tried WMP, Rhapsody, and Yahoo Music and I am not able to hear any of it.

Maybe your sound card has not yet released the updated drivers for Vista yet even if it says it is working...It is not compatible until the updates are released......Or maybe you just have it on mute and dont realize it!!

Open up the sound mixer and make sure none of the channels are muted. Vista handles sound a little differently than XP. Another thing to try, go to the website of your sound card's manufacturer and see if they have drivers available for Vista yet. Alternatively, you can just run Windows Update and see if it finds anything.

Vista has 0% support now, sorry friend but you are in a tight vise now, do yourself a favor and collect all the cd's and manuals and the box and return the PC to where you found it.

Then use the refund to get a decent computer, get an iMac.

Nuff' said.

windows vista should have told you to update the drivers from the audio card manufacture , if not they don't have the drivers yet , so unplug the speakers and plug them into your onboard audio, it shold work fine .
