Well, there are many, but our favorite kitchen dancing times have been with The Beach Boys. We would put CD in the boom box and crank it up. Then we would sing and dance around the kitchen, laughing and avoiding the work we were there to do in the first place. 409, Surfing USA, Barbara Ann, California Girls... Oh, thank you for the great memories.

We liked Michael Jackson, Cher, Righteous Brothers, Gordon Lightfoot, and the Four Tops; even so, the Beach Boys win by a mile.

I'll list singers and groups there are too many songs to name. Pearl Jam, Lauryn Hill with the Fugees, No Doubt, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage, Rage Against the Machine, Sublime and Everclear, all old school of course, early to late 90's. And though not from my era, 60's and 70's music changed my life and there are too many to name!

We constantly listen to music here at home and my 11 month old and 8 year old both love to dance to my "old" music. However, my 8 year old is very quick to ask "who sings that?" and runs to the computer to read the name. I keep waiting for our old alternative rock to become known as "Oldies"!

I believe that old or new, music exists in a time all it's own.

If it were my choice, they would rock out to My Chemical Romance, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage, Fall Out Boy, AFI, and good ol' Tenacious D.
