Get everyone to pitch on a regular basis. I just started doing this and it really helps. Items that have more than one purpose is good. Trunk for coffee table to store DVDs,CDs,ect... Trunk at the end of bed for extra bedding or out of season clothes. Under bed storage bins are good for out of season clothes and whatever else. I use them to store clothes I bought on clearance for the following year(kids). Put an extra shelf in closets. Store items you use the least often up there.Store sheets inside pillow cases for easy grabbing and less space. I use lots of shelving and rolling bins underneath in the office for receipts, envelopes, books, ect... Use rolling bins in closets for wrapping paper, ect...I have a bulletin board(decor decorated)in the kitchen for school papers,ect... Plastic baskets from the dollar store for my pantry and the kids room. Fabric cubes from Lowes for toys and they are in my pantry to serve as junk drawers. Make boxes for charity (tax write off) and garage sale. Give everything a place. Then take the garage sale $ and go on vacation.

Well if you have alot of things in your house then it will be hard to organize. Try getting rid of some of the clutter and stuff that you dont use and have a garage sale or donate some things. you can also try to buy storage bins and little organizing containers for around the house. Good luck :)

There is an amazing book called Speedcleaning - it is Australian, but it tells you how to organise your house, spring clean efficiently, keep it tidy, and most importantly, clean the house in 15 minutes a day. If you are not in Australia, some of the products may not be familiar, but the essence is the same.

there are organization shows on home and garden tv, the best thing to do is start going through it and throw away anything you didnt wear in a year, anything you dont like, dont use, im doing that myself and my house isnt in an uproar but i do it spring and fall so that it doesnt get that way, i have a vac cleaner i need to throw out but i have to get that past my man, who thinks its ok, he doesnt see the tons of dust flying out of that horrid thing. lol then get shelving and baskets and keep like objects together, im an artist so i have a basket for tubes of beads and bead tools, one for my paper arts, one for paints , one for drawing tools, one for quilting items, one for embroidery, one for cross stitch, and so on. i can find things much faster that way.
