If you came here, youd be put at DB in a heartbeat. Most teams want LBs to be alot bigger than you. If you hit hard and are "ferocious", then youd be good at FS. You need to be fast and quick to fit in at safety here though. If you gain about 20-30 pounds, maybe youd be good at LB, because you are still growing. Get faster though. It never hurts to be fast.

Well if you are looking to get heavier then you probably need to move to Middle Linebacker. Normally your outside linebackers are quicker so they can cover. You just need to make up your mind which aspect you are going to focus on. Does not matter what position you play on defense you have to like hitting. If you are wanting to play free safety then you definitely do not need to get heavier, but just work out hard and run like the wind. To play defensive back today you have to be extremely agile and fast as you know. Since you are 5'11 and 180 lbs you should probably stay at outside LB. If you get faster and taller then slide back to free safety and wreck some havoc

At your age you may get bigger but its not guaranteed you will get taller. So i think being a Free Safety would not work for you being that you will have a serious disadvantage down the field with the taller receivers, especially in the redzone. I suggest you try to reach the 225-230lbs and play outside linebacker. You get the best of both worlds, use your ferociousness as a hitter and cover the curl/flat routes. You will need to be quicker though as you said you will be working on. Hope this helps, good luck!!!

right now you should stay where you are, if you want to play in teh states they will swtich you to a DB postion...if you are not as quick but you hit hard and are physical and play the run very well you would actually fit really well as a S.S, a john lynch type of guy. IF you want to play in teh states no matter what you need to get faster and stonger, work out 5 times, lift hard, run hard, run fast. Get on a good program and use protein supplements like muscel milk, or whey. If you have questions about some lifts email me (waukeshabraves26@yahoo.com) because i also play football (F.S.) and i work out alot and know quite abit about the stuff. So good luck and work hard.

Look at building some explosiveness in your thighs and calfs for a quick jump to the ball and you would be a perfect FS. Work on SPEED drills and change of direction drills with your feet and hips. The rest will come to you as your football IQ gets better. STICK WITH IT!!

no definetly MLB(middle line backer) if you went as a saftey the other team would throw it right over your head and u wouldnt be able catch up to the ball if ur 180. if you wanted 2 play saftey, lose 20 lbs. and do what ever u can to get taller.

Since you're not very big and can't tackle I would say safety. Even if your not as fat as the receivers as log as you're in position and don't get beat you should be fine
