Both movement and shedding can creat stress that causes him not to eat. Keep trying rats, and be shure he has an addequate hideing spot and he will eat eventually.

Both moving and shedding are reasons for them not to eat.

At 8 ft. he could easily go several months without a meal. I had a 7 1/2 ft. boa that would never eat from October to March or April when it was cold out. Her temperature inside the tank never changes, so I always wondered how she knew it was winter.

Don't push things with your friend's boa.
