The most amazing thing about that morning was that when Bush entered the school that morning, he told a reporter he'd already seen the first plane hit the tower. It hadn't been on the news yet. Soon after, he told a boy in answer to a question that he saw the first plane hit the tower on tv and thought - that's some poor pilot.

Okay, no one saw the first plane hit the tower until hours after in tape. Except Bush, who told reporters he saw the first plane hit the tower before he even went into that classroom.

And how can any grown man buy the nonsense that bush sat there doing nothing when only he could order shoot downs because he didn't want to scare school kids. Gee, just say - excuse me, duty calls and go. Pretty exciting for kids, not scary.

#1 the president can receive information and make a decision from anywhere in the world, including an elementary school.

#2 the nation was under attack and the school had already been secured, I'm sure arrangements were being made to get him out of there. A few minutes to make plans of this magnatude is very reasonable.

#3 is there really ANYTHING he could have done that would have made any difference in anything in that moment? No.

He would be critisized by the same crowd no matter what he did. From turning the school into a command center, making it a target, scaring kids, or dashing out the door and sitting in a car "doing nothing" for a few minutes.

With rational thought its obvious that this shouldnt even be an issue. But then all the jokes start pouring in because thats how biased the Bush bashers are.... not rational, just hateful.

I just want to point out to all these folks who say "he just sat there so he wouldn't upset the kids," that this line of reasoning is problematic. Because eventually he DID get up and excuse himself and leave the room quickly and unexpectedly. He just waited a few minutes to do it.

But the bigger point is that at the time, no one had any way of knowing what was going on. All he knew was that we were under attack. How did he know that he was safe sitting there with all those kids?

In hind sight, we know that he and the kids were not a target, but at the time he had no way of knowing this. At the time, he MIGHT have had a plane or a bomb or a rifle aimed at him and who ever was sitting near him. By not moving him to a secure location immediatly, his aids and the secret service were exposing the President and by-standers to unknown and unnecessary risk.

Also, it wasn't a book titled, "The Pet Goat," it was an anthology of children's stories that contained that story.

President Bush had no reason to prematurely race out of the classroom. Once the proper government entities had been informed of the attack, certain procedures immediately went into effect. The President was waiting for his aides to tell him which government compound had been prepared for him, and for fighter jets to be deployed to safeguard Air Force One.

The President of the United States does not run around like a chicken with its head cut off. President Bush acted calmly and rationally. I suppose Kerry would have freaked out.

Do you know what JOHN KERRY said happened after HE learned of the attack? He said that he and his entourage just sat in an office, completely dumbfounded, unable to speak or even think!

Read all about it in the book, "Do As I Say, Not As I Do: Profiles In Liberal Hypocrisy"

So, do you feel a little angry at how the Liberal media distorts the truth, and makes you think what it wishes???

He was reading The Pet Goat (a lot of people call it my pet goat, but that title is incorrect). He also probably ceded authority to the VP until he could get on it. There wasn't much he could do that wasn't already being done. Besides, would you actually have wanted him to mobilize a response -immediately- to 9/11? I mean, he had 2 years to plan the Iraq War, and look how that turned out!

i don't know what book it was. the reason he sat there is because he was in a room full of kids and he didn't want to upset the kids. when they told him about the first hit. he thought the poor fool hit the tower. then by the time they told him about the second one he realized we was being attacked. he looked like he wanted to cry. looked dazed.

They should have immediately rushed President Bush to a secure location because the whole world knew he was going to be at this grade school 2 weeks prior to the attacks.

The book was "My Pet Goat ate half of George's brain"

Sheeple People who refuse to accept the fact that the U.S. Government had their hand in the Terror Attacks of 911 are just plain ignorant. It's impossible for Jet fuel or Kerosene to melt iron...LOOK AT THE PERIODIC TABLE OF ELEMENTS. Also if the floors collapsed causing a chain reaction it would have taken well over 90 seconds for the buildings to come down. They came down at free fall speed....9 seconds. There is no logical argument here. Explosives were pre-planted in the building. Case closed! Some idiots will argue that the fires were raging hot inferno’s...however if that was the case then why were there people standing in the holes where the planes impacted waving for help? Their clothes weren’t even burnt. Here we are talking about the biggest crime scene in the history of the United States...and what did Guilani do?
He scooped up all the evidence and got rid of it as fast as he possibly could. Sent overseas to be recycled? I doubt it...my guess is they dumped it all in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

If any of you nincompoops would look at the evidence...it's a common tactic for a country to injure or attack itself and then blame it on the enemy. Then we can go get em. Common tactic, there is even a name for it...it’s called.. “Pretext for Military Intervention” Why don't all you wonderful wise little kids tell me why NORAD didn't scramble any fighters to escort the hijacked planes down? They didn't miss 1, but 3!! Anytime a commercial airline goes off course without explanation, within 10 minutes, fighter jets are supposed to escort them down. Especially the air space over the Pentagon! Hmmm. How convenient. You think it was because Bush ordered Cheney to take control over NORAD the same morning of the attacks? Did you also know that the WTC changed owners about six months prior to the attacks? Did you also know that the buildings were worth more if destroyed than standing? That Larry Silverstein is the man who cashed out on the scam...walking away with billions? Did you know that there was a flurry of activity on Wall Street prior to the attacks, and the majority of the trading was “Put options” on the doomed Airlines stock? Did you know that there were multiple explosions heard inside the buildings from all kinds of firefighters, police officers and witnesses? Did you know that WTC Building 7 fell at approximately 5:30 p.m.? That the building did not suffer any major damage, but it somehow blew up into a fine pile of dust? Do you Morons even know what propaganda is? Do you know that it is also a well known and effectively used tool for the government to pull the wool over your eyes? Well, don't say we didn't warn you when your asking yourself 5 years from now "How could this happen?" It's sheeple people who make it easy for the government to do whatever they want. Educate yourself and open your eyes folks. This is real, and there are more than just a couple of us who think so. Go to google and type in Terror Attacks of 911...have yourself a look at all the choices there are to choose from.

I don't know the book. I will tell you why he stayed. There was nothing he or anyone else could do but what he could do was finish the story for those children. We help those we can when we can we don't desert all to help none. That is a liberal thing.

What would you have had him to do? Wave a majic wand and stop the planes or maybe put on a cape and fly up and stop the planes in mid flight? What were you doing? Why did you just sit there?
