I don't see them going after Jamal Lewis - mainly due to his age.. I know they've been unhappy with Tatum and with Mike Bell.. Shanahan demands a lot from his running backs and neither of them seem to fit in well with what they were needing.. He clearly misses Terrell Davis - who was about as "all purpose" as you could get..
Travis Henry might be a viable option, but his play is also inconsistent..
Thomas Jones too inconsistent..
Chris Brown too light..
and you run the same risk with a rookie RB: takes time to groom them for the position... I don't see them taking a rookie in the draft, but Shanahan has pulled surprises before -- and he seems to have a knack at finding talent he can work with...

I dont really know who they would draft. Most of the great RBs will be gone before the Broncos pick. Jamal Lewis seems to be what everyone's thinking. But, my boy from Ohio State seems to be a great player that nobodys talking about and thats Antonio Pittman. He was overshadowed in the regular season by Heisman Winner Troy Smith and his favorite targets Ted Ginn and Anthony Gonzalez, but he is great. He ran the 40 in the same time as Adrian Peterson (I think 4.4), and he is notorious for breaking off big runs and coming through in the clutch.

As a huge Broncos fan, I personally belive they should go after Jamal Lewis, but the Ravins still want him, and he wants to be in baltimore, so lewis is unlikely. The Titans just released Travis Henery, and he is meeting with denver this week. It is more than likely they will sign him. But, if that were not to happen they could draft one, but it would have to be in the third round. Adrian Peterson and Marshawn Lynch will have already been taken, and there are no good second round hb's that are any good. They will not use mike bell because Mike Shanahan belives he is a good backup, but not a starter

Mike Bell is a capable starter but I question his durability. I'm sure they'll consider signing Lewis, McGahee, or possibly Travis Henry (I know they were interested in him late last year and it's been reported that Tenn will cut him early next week). Personally I'd love to see them trade up to draft Adrian Peterson but that would require trading up to the #3 or #4 spot and the price might be to high. They always seem to find some quality RBs in the 4th, 5th, or even 6th rounds of the draft.

if im the broncos im looking to have mike bell start, but also draft a guy like as you meation pittmen or bush, chris henary could also be a nice pick for them. But in the end the broncos prove tiem and time again it doesnt matter who they put back there, they always run and run very well. But id go with 2 backs, bell and a draft pick. I would not sign lewis tho, but travis henary could be an option.

In keeping with the history of the Broncos, look for them to draft a rookie in the 2nd-4th round who will come in and be an adequate backup to a marginally talented veteran (Mike Bell), with an ensuing see-saw battle lasting the entire season. By the end of the season, Mike Bell will be the 1,000 yard rusher, but the rookie will have established himself to such a degree that this time next season, Mike Bell will be traded to another team, and the whole process will start all over again.

The Broncos have had their eyes on Jamal Lewis for a lengthy time period. So, I wouldnt be shocked of they made an provide to him because they could get him for next to no longer something in recent times and their gadget is magic even as it is composed of the operating sport. I doubt they're going to commerce up for a RB.

I say keep Mike Bell at the 1 and look deep in the draft as Mike Shannahan is a run game genious. Jamal Lewis is GARBAGE in the Denver backfield system. Not a good option.

Honestly it doesnt matter what they do the guy will still rush for a thousand yards. I think they will stick with Mike Bell though and maybe draft someone or pick up Rhodes, Brown, or Henry. They may even trade for Jones or MaGahee. I hope they dont go after J.Lew, I want him back with my Ravens.
Lewis is only like 27.
