1) low tire pressure
2) sticky brake caliper
3) bad brake flex line
4) bad front end parts

If the car pulls one way when you apply the brakes, then the other way when you release them I'd suspect the calipers or flex lines.

If it just pulls to one side when you brake and then drives normally, I'd suspect tires or front end stuff.

Any front end alignment problem or loose front end parts will act up worse when you brake: if it pulls slightly to one side all the timne it will be worse when you apply the brakes.

I've had this problem on a few cars in the past, it's the tracking, get that done & they'll do the wheel alignment too. it's not expensive, I wouldn't go to main dealer just for that tho, just go to a local garage. FIRST THO!!! just check all 4 tyres so all trye presure is the same, it might be that one of your front tyres is flatter than the other side : ) Good Luck

Check your tire pressure. Uneven pressures from side to side will cause this to happen, as will wheel alignment. Just because the pads are ONLY a year or two old doesn't mean they aren't worn down!!!

Initially check for any leaks. Next check for pads/shoes that could be worn. Ultimately verify that there is enough brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.

had same problem with an explorer, turned out i had a bad caliper..it was covered by warranty.. however a new caliper would have cost me about 75 dollars and an hour 1/2 worth of work.

Cause your drums need to be set till they match... You'll need to set the self-adjusters on your brake so they match and you won't get that pull to one side deal... Your self-adjusters are set at different settings they should be fairly equal...

You probably need an alignment. Mine did it too and it will ruin your tires if you don't get it fixed.
