So much stuff laying around: What do I do with all this material stuff? Cards, pictures, gadgets, papers....what's worth keeping? What will have value in the future? Should I take the value for what it once was and keep it within, or should I keep the item itself? Any ideas?

I feel your pain. I want to de-clutter my life, but as soon as I try I think that maybe I could use it in the future, I remember how much I paid for it and I wonder if I donate it to Goodwill, will I just end up buying another one anyway? Ugh.

Hard to say. As a rule, I think the less I get attached to material things the better I feel in the long run. Stuff like pictures of old girl friends, what is the use? All it does is to draw you back to the past. Which is unhealthy. So maybe the answer is: keep what will help you in the present. If it has no use for you in the present, and only brings back the past or had a use in the past, maybe lean towards discarding it. That said, things can record the past in ways that bring to mind thoughts and ideas that are useful in the present and should therefore be kept.

I really love throwing stuff out. Once in a while when too much has been accumulated i throw or give away.
Rule of thumb is that if it is that anything i use on a regular basis, or has such sentimental value and could not be replaced, stays.

A positive goal in mind is worth keeping.

Give it to the Salvation Army, this way if it has value, it's going to the right place.

Travel lightly in life. You never know when you may be called to leave.
