Great question. Here's my take:

Peyton Manning: Manning is a lock. Nuff said.

Ray Lewis: He has a Super Bowl, Def POY and has been the top player on one of the greatest defenses in a generation. He's in.

Tom Brady: The only question for Brady is whether or not he can get another Bowl and be a BEST EVER candidate.

Brett Favre: If he had another ring, he'd be there with Montana and Elway. He's in the hall.

Ladanian Tomlinson: Not a lock yet. He needs at least one more great year, which is never a given with RBs.

Larry Johnson: No chance. He had 416 carries last year, and the track record of 400+ rushers is that they fade soon after. He'll never rush for 1,700 again.

Marvin Harrison: He's a lock, but I don't think he's as good as his numbers. He's been a bad, bad postseason player.

Champ Bailey: Not a lock. He needs at least 3 more great years. We'll see. He's never been a kick return guy, and it's not easy to make it purely on being a DB.

Dwight Freeney: No chance.

Brian Urlacher: Not a lock. Needs at least 4 more big years.

Randy Moss, Terrell Owens: Let's put em together. Both have the numbers to make it, but both will be hindered by their ME first attitudes and lack of grit. At this point, I think Owens is closer, based on the fact that he looks like a better player than Moss right now and he had a great, gutsy performance on that cracked leg in the Super Bowl.

So, in conclusion I say Manning, Brady, Favre, Lewis, and Harrison are in. Baily, Tomlinson, Urlacher, Owens and Moss have a good chance. Johnson and Freeney have NO chance.

Peyton Manning - 1st ballot HoF
Ray Lewis - 1st ballot HoF
Tom Brady - 1st ballot HoF
Brett Favre - 1st ballot HoF
Ladanian Tomlinson - 1st ballot HoF
Larry Johnson - a few more good seasons but I think he can do it
Marvin Harrison - 1st ballot HoF
Champ Bailey - 1st ballot HoF
Dwight Freeney - No, needs a few more good seasons.
Brian Urlacher - 1st ballot HoF
Randy Moss - Lost all momentum on his career with the 2 year stint in Oakland. Needs good years to turn it around. Hard to get in the HoF as a WR w/o a championship ring. Take a look for yourself.
Terrell Owens - See above. Plus he's a headcase. Even if he gets in (which he should not), he'll have to wait, and a lot longer than his boy Irvin did.

Peyton Manning - Most Ridiculous numbers a quarterback has seen in a long time... and a ring to go along with it
Ray Lewis - A tank of a linebacker, is the core of the ravens franchise and is the only reason they ever win
Tom Brady - 3 super bowls in 4 years and a gaudy playoff record
Brett Favre - C'mon, hes Brett Favre
Ladanian Tomlinson - Most dynamic running back ever in the league
Marvin Harrison - The best possession reciever in the league, and a deep threat, the jerry rice of the 21st century
Champ Bailey - The most explosive corner back ever in the NFL
Dwight Freeney - A sick nasty DE, with a franchise tag
Brian Urlacher - Best Linebacker ever
Terrell Owens - Despite his attitude, he consistantly has the most touchdowns every year

Peyton Manning - He will get in on his first try

Ray Lewis - Yes but some voters will be hesitant because of the murder charge of several years ago. Even though he was found not guilty, still some voters will be hesitant.

Tom Brady - 3 Super Bowl wins? You bet he'll get in.

Brett Favre - He will also get in on his first try.

Ladanian Tomlinson - Too soon to tell but if he does not have any serious enjuries between now and when he retires, he will get in.

Larry Johnson - Too soon to tell.

Marvin Harrison - He will but probably not on the first ballot.

Champ Bailey - Maybe.

Dwight Freeney - Maybe

Brian Urlacher - Too soon to tell but if he stays healthy he will.

Randy Moss - Not unless he cleans up his act.

Terrell Owens - Not unless he stops being a cancer in the locker room.

Dont be suprised if TO and Randy Moss dont get in because of their bad attitudes towards players, coaches, organizations and the game of football as a whole, but on skills alone (just not this year), yes. If Larry Johnson keeps up his whole deal consistently for a few more years, then he should be in. Brett Favre and Marvin Harrison are already in, all they need to do is retire. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning will be in. I dont know about Ray Lewis, but chances are he'll be in, although I dont know if they want a killer in the Hall. LT is in, Champ Bailey is the best CB in the league, and some even call him the best their ever was. Hes gotta be in. Dwight Freeny is an iffy call. I would say close right now, but no cigar. Brian Urlacher was supposed to be the best defensive player since Lawrence Taylor, and while thats a tall order, I think he comes pretty close. He is in for sure.

manning, lewis, brady, favre, tomlinson, johnson, harrison, bailey, urlacher

manning: will continue to pile up big time numbers and will win at least one more super bowl

lewis: has a ring and is maybe the most prolific tackler of this era

brady: could get in if he retired today, those three super bowls can never be taken awayand his consistent numbers and performances in the playoffs should continue

favre: obviously he's in if he decides to quit, not many people have won three mvp's

tomlinson: maybe the best RB ever when he quits, he is one of the most gifted players in the league in a long long time

johnson: this one is kinda borderline, but at the pace he is going if he doesn't burn out he will have tremendous numbers

harrison: he would be in if he quit today now that he has a ring, and he has proven himself as one of the most prolific wideouts of all time

bailey: maybe the most dominant CB of this era, he defines the lockdown corner

freeney: has not proven that he can perform consistently, he's had two down years in a row now

urlacher: will be one of the best LBs to play when he is done, and has redefined the position with his speed and playmaking ability

moss: his numbers have dropped significantly, and he is so lazy that he will be viewed negatively by the voters

owens: tougher to keep out, but i think his numbers are pretty ordinary, and again he will be viewed negatively by most voters because of his nature

Unless the league REALLY stiffens their selections, I think the first ten will be Hall of Famers. That is, of course, excluding Moss and Owens.

The only players I might be hesistant of being hall of famers are Lewis and Johnson. Obviously these two need to have a few more consistently nice years.

T.O. and Moss? I don't think they have a chance unless they clean their act up next season and beyond

Manning, Lewis, Brady, Farve, Tomlinson, Harrison, Baily, and Moss (assuming he gets his act togethere this year). Will all get in.

Johnson, Freeney, and Urlacher still have things to prove. They havent acheived anything great yet.

Owens has no shot to get in because the people that vote on it dont like him.
