To transfer a CD to your iPod, stick the CD in. Then, there should be a "Devices" label in the left-hand column of iTunes. There's an "Import CD" button on the bottom right-hand side; click it.

When you connect your iPod to the computer, it should update your library automatically. If it doesn't update it automatically, you can manually update it under the "Devices" label by clicking on your iPod.

First of all, check the settings on your iTunes. Does it automatically update your ipod? If it does, it will wipe out any songs that are on the ipod but not in your itunes library. To prevent this change the setting to "manually update" the ipod. Then you could add songs to your ipod without deleting the songs that are not in your itunes library. To transfer a cd, you have to first load the cd into your library, then (if you don't want to erase the 50 songs that are already in your ipod but not in your itunes library), manually update your ipod with the new songs. If you don't care about the original 50 songs, or if you already reloaded them into your library, then you can keep the setting on automatically update my ipod.

Hi, this is Boricua and I believe I can help you on your problem. The thing is that the CD you have is probably not in MP3 format and the songs won't transfer to the ipod. Also the CDROM you have may not be reading correctly or the cd is bad. To get the songs on MP3 format you have to get an audio converter by going to download.com and search for that MP3 converter. Try this and if still trouble email me @GFBoricua87@Yahoo.com.
