I think I drafted him in the 4th or 5th round in my fantasy league and now he is backing up Emery. And then I had to drop him. Is he bad because he's getting too old?

He is overrated, he always was, even when he was with Anaheim. He only had one good year (last season). The Senators made Hasek their scapegoat last year, and decided Gerber was their saviour and gave him $11 mil over 3 years. Now they're stuck with him since no other team wants to take on his salary.

Its basically Ray Emery seizing the opportunity. Gerber struggled early and Bryan Murray gave Emery the chance and he's done a much better job than Gerber did. So Murray stuck with him and i doubt Gerber will regain his form this year.

He is just having another bad year. It is a shame, I really liked him. The same thing happened in Carolina last year Ward impressed everyone make Gerber useless. It is hapening this year, but it is Emery that is showing him up.

Its pretty simple. Hes always sucked. He had a pretty good year last year but if you look at his career he has always been a back-up. He never had impressive stats until he had a pretty good season last year. Now that he doesn't have to compete with a rookie he is riding the bench
