Unions are bad. They are just trying to get rich. I worked for a company that made you join the union and all the union ever did was charge the monthly due.

I've had union jobs and they definitely pay better and have better benefits than equivalent non-union jobs. Yes, unions can be corrupt, but so can businesses and so can government. I can certainly think of specific instances where union corruption has hurt people. I can also think of specific instances where corruption in business or the government has hurt people (anyone remember Enron?). In general, I think unions are a very good thing for workers. If it weren't for unions in the first place, there would be no such thing as benefits such as paid insurance, sick leave, paid vacations, reasonable work schedules, etc. Employees would be completely at the mercy of employers.

lol jimmy hoffa and the rabble rousers are gone, yeesh.you know what the mafia is?its not sopranos, its small time hoods and carjackers,99% of the time.unions are great.the concept is solid.thw workers unite to have the leverage to battle big corporations for fair and equitable treatment.union fees are nothing compared to the security, benefits package, and wage increase unions get for you.however, its commonly abused.useless workers are almost impossible to fire, and there have been many instances where the union pushes so hard that they actually pull companies under and everyone loses their job.greed and laziness are rampant, but the wages are good.so,depends on how responsible your union is i guess.in short,i have little respect for them anymore, but i wouldnt turn down a union job.

UNIONS HAD A PLACE IN THE U.S. BACK IN THE DAYS. BUT TODAY MANY LAWS HAVE BEEN ENACTED TO PROTECT THE WORKER. BEFORE YOU HAD TO HAVE THE POWER OF THE MOB CONTROLLED UNIONS TO EARN A DECENT WAGE AND TO HAVE WORK PLACE PROTECTION. THE LAWS HAVE CHANGED AND THE WORKER IN AMERICA IS AFFORDED PLENTY OF PROTECTION. THE UNIONS ARE ANTIQUATED AND THEY HAVE NO PLACE IN MODERN SOCIETY. JUST LOOK AT THE AUTO WORKERS. THE UNIONS IN THIS COUNTRY HAVE RUN THE AUTO INDUSTRY INTO THE GROUND, ALONG WITH PLENTY OF OTHER ASPECTS OF INDUSTRY.

When unions were begun, they were good for us. Now all they want is power and money.
