I'm writing an essay comparing the experience of Blacks in Canada and the United States. What are some good, interesting topics to cover? So far I have Racism/Discrimination and History. Also a general introduction.

Well, since slaves in the US fled to canada to escape slavery, I would say the experiences were quite different. Looking at the economy of canada back when, I do not believe canada had a lot of need for slave labor (they dont grow a lot of cotton, for example)

You will certainly want to look at the Underground Railroad, the early abolition of slavery in Canada and at Jackie Robinson.

How about how they overpopulate the prisons and raise the national crime rate in both countries....
