i believe you cannot bring more than 2 liters.. i say that because i know that is the limit you can import from another country without getting a permit or something like that
but you will have to be at least 21 in order to get through with it

no.....to an extent. you may bring 1 liter per person traveling, provided that 1) you are all at least 21 years old, 2) it is for your own use or as a gift, and 3) it does not violate the laws of the state in which you arrive. If you bring back more than this, you be ready to pay some taxes and duties. Piece of advice: Keep track (write down) exactly what you bring back into the U.S. The last time i was in canada, i brought back a few bottles, not knowing all of the tax laws. the guy at the border basically harrassed me b/c i couldn't remember for sure how many bottles i had w/ me. keep a list, and don't lie to them. if you don't remember how many bottles you have, tell them this, and DO NOT make up a number or guess. if you do, and you're wrong, they can get you.

For the most part, no. If you're there for less than 24 hours, you can only bring back something like two 750ml bottles duty free, beyond which you have to pay duty on each bottle. More than 24 hours the limit rises to something like five bottles.
Alcohol that is illegal in the United States, like Absinthe, is however illegal to bring in any quantity.

No. We were stopped and searched at the border simply because the guard thought we had some. And we were a family of five, the oldest was maybe 10. He didn't find anything, either. My dad, a cop for several years at that point, was angry, but for us kids, it was an exciting way to end our vacation.

I don't know about liquor, but we used to bring beer back all the time. There is a limit as to how much you can legally bring.

you're allowed to hold back a undeniable volume (as long as you're of criminal age) and that i think it somewhat is one litre. something over which you're able to desire to pay taxes on. No evaluate hiding it on your suitcase - suitcases are checked (and bottles can ruin - that gets messy)
