What do you consider to be the best 'tribute' song, recorded in memory of another musician who has died?

Mine is the Commodores' Nightshift? It was a tribute to Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson, the two musical legends who passed away in 1984 a year before the song’s release. The bassline knocks me out and the lyrics are lovely.

Abraham, Martin and John - Marvin Gaye. It is a tribute to the memories of icons of social change, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr., John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy. It was written as a response to the assassinations of King and Robert Kennedy in 1968.

I just really love this song

Three stars by eddie cochran, this was a tribute to buddy holly ritchie valens and the big bopper who sadly all died together on feb 3 1959, ironically eddie was killed himself in a auto crash in 1960, which resulted another fine tribute song just like eddie by heinz.

George Harrison continuously wins in my e book. No situation. i've got in simple terms been playing your questions so thought i might hook up with maintain as much as date. No genuine exciting back tale. Ever see Labyrinth with David Bowie? he's Jareth, the Goblin King and spends the action picture in tights in actuality. shame somewhat to could desire to take a seat and watch that. somewhat. basically a shame. ;~D
