I dislocated my knee 8 days ago and the swelling is just as bad as the day after it happened. i went to the doctor on thursday and he didnt seem overly concerned about it.

To me it just seems that the swelling should have gone down some..

What do you think?

I think you need some hands-on care from someone who is trained to know what is going on, and that can help you reduce the pain and swelling.

Go to APTA.org, click on "Find a PT", and search your home area for a physical therapist. You may want to find one who is a specialist in orthopedic or sports PT (OCS or SCS after their name).

Good luck!

That is weird that the doctor was unconcerned. Knee dislocation predisposes you to further dislocation and also arthritis and other problems. See a good orthopedic doctor (or another orthopedic doctor than the one you saw). This can be a very serious problem if left untreated.

You need an MRI, to check for fracture. Go back to the doctor.
