You could check out your local community college or technical college. At these schools you can get an associate's degree in about 2 years.
If you're looking for something quicker, these same schools often have classes that teach something specific for 8 weeks or so--something that you could get a certificate in, like auto mechanics, welding, or trade skills. With these skills you can get into labor or factory work, and get involved in a union for benefits etc.
Or they would have basic classes like typing, or classes that teach administrative skills.
You can talk to someone in admissions and they would be able to direct you to something that would be a fit for you.
Good luck!

You can become a truck driver. You'll spend about a week or so in the classroom, and 4 weeks or so actually learning how to drive a truck all the stuff that goes with it. You'll start out making about 40-50k per year and about 150k to 180k per year if you buy your own truck(you have to pay your own expenses though like gas/maintenence/truck payment and insurance which will quite a bit, but if you plan on doing it for at least 5 years, its the way to go.

Which is also in my 5 months course. Also local EDD offices have classes in computers to. like 3 week courses. Good luck in your new career, be choosy, you have to like what your going to do. I seen you said manual, they also have classes through programs like Community partnership programs, for 3-5 months in welding, forklift, warehouse, ect.... Just go down to your local EDD office on Monday and speak to someone, tell them what you are interested in short term training.

go find a heavy equipement construction company. find out how to learn to operate heavy equipment . It may take less than 3 months and the pay will be much better then you expect.
Go to training to be a surveyors helper.
3 months you could be a mortgage broker and make tons of money.
why do you want to shoot so low? unmotivated? the only way to be independent is to earn money, or have money. Otherwise, you have the golden handcuffs on.

bypass to college to be a realtor. Realtor's make good money and the occupation is to no longer difficult the two. you're a self-employed contractor and additionally you may artwork your individual hours and make good earnings. in case you replace right into a realtor finished-time and function good consumer help skills and a friendly efficient character you additionally could make as much as 100k a 12 months. I certainly have a pal it somewhat is a few what of a human beings individual yet she is shy and she or he works approximately 3/4 of the time and she or he makes approximately 30k a 12 months advertising residences. So the earning ability is as much as you. detect a superb realtor to artwork for. the 1st step is to bypass on line and detect a community realtor college that teaches a pre-licensing category and sign up for it. the category circumstances can selection. I took a nighttime category that lasted 3 weeks each nighttime from 6-10PM. you may take an afternoon category some places like M-F for one week 7AM-6PM and end your pre-education standards or you may bypass on Weekends like various day Saturdays for 3 months until eventually ultimately you get the pre-required 60 hours of education. once you get that education then you definately are eligible to set for the state examination to get your realtor's licence. enable me inform you the examination is tough, yet as quickly as you bypass then you definately detect a broking provider you desire to artwork for. maximum realtors make a proportion off there listings. 6% to your individual listings and 3% off of alternative realtors listings which you sell. So to illustrate one hundred,000 greenback domicile indexed with the help of yet another realtor which you stumbled on a consumer for you're making 3,000.00.....(much less your brokers fee). good success!

I just got "retired" early. I was thinking of going to paralegal school. It costs about $5k and takes about 8 months. That's the shortest school time that I can think of that will still let you make some money.....
