Shopping for groceries online, buying medication online, working from home....you get the point. So what's this leading to? Are people going to become introverted hermits who exit the realm of their house once a week?

What of it? I do my best work alone, no idiots driving me mad with completely asinine questions, etc. I ask you, what makes you as a social person better than me? I can deal with people when the situation calls for it, but beyond that, I have no use for others.

About 5 years ago a news report stated that a study was done on people on the Internet, more people are spending more time away from others and contact is done on the web.
Online buying has increased at an extreme rate. Not all is lost though, there are those that do go out and socialize with others.

It is a trend though and was seen in 2002 to get worse. That is what the study said. Make up your own mind on that.

I know I am one. I only go out of the house to work or get provisions. As long as I can get an internet connection or find something on TV, I'm perfectly content to stay in. I pay for a phone I never use. I don't date. I don't even know any of the people in my building.

I think so. I never even thought about it before. We work all week, on Saturday we do our errands and clean, clean, clean, on Sunday we go to church and shop online, then the week is back again. There's no time for people in there. I only leave my house for work and the grocery store. I never really thought about it, but I am really becoming homophobic.

I did worse than that. I retired and moved to the smokey mountains. I now practice I love it.

edit:you won't find hermitity in the dictionary.
