We own a home in Norcross, GA. Right across the street, John Willis, a builder is building 1 million dollar homes. Our house is for sale as of this week for 264,900. How do we find out if the builder is interested in tearing down the homes on our street like he did across the street? They would not tell us.

Its all public records info, the county courthouse will show who owns the property parcels and the city building department will have the permits applied for. Also it is not uncommon for a builder to submit a plat for approval that includes target properties so mitigation issues can be assessed. Upon plat completion an "as built" will be recorded. That will show the actual development and not include the target properties if they were not obtainable or suitable. The builder will have some scout agents buying up the blocks he wants to develope. Often a seller will refuse top sell to a builder but will sell to leave the area. Thats where scout agents or bird dogs come in. Once you sell it is theirs and you have no say in what they do. I explained that in your other question. I feel saddened by your fast sale as it has cost you a lot of easy equity you could have easily had in a few more months.

Find otu what he paid for the other houses, like yours. Get this information from public records at the county court house. Then put up a for sale sign in your yard. Lets say they paid 100K and you want 120K. When someone calls find out who they are, and say you want 150. Those who know it isnt worth it, will go away, the builder will say..mmmm well and then they keep negotiating. but nothing better to find out who will offer you what by putting up a sign in your yard. Plus if the builder wants your house, he will know he must act fast.
