my best friend just broke up with her boyfriend of almost 6 months because her family doesnt want her to be dating. She loved him very much, and now I don't know what to tell her. I feel like a horrible friend but I honestly have no idea. any good suggestions on what I could say that might make her feel better?

Part of being a friend isnt "making them feel better", its helping them to become better. Sometimes when you are deeply hurt you dont want someone to clown-around, and you can be best touched and deeply healed by someone who can understand your sorrow, enter into it, and truly deeply weep with you.

Everyone is different, so I cant say what will cheer your friend up, but I just think maybe cheering someone up that quick after a very deep hurt isnt healthy.

honestly 6 months can hardle account as love. Just tell her that everything is going to be fine and that even though it is hard now she will surpass it. Also tell her that even though she loved him he is just a guy and that her family will always be there for her, through thick and thin. And also say something like they are only looking out for what is best for u and they dont want to see u get hurt or into trouble bc of him

I would suggest that you must invite your bestfriend to a walk near the beach or have an encounter with nature like going to a countryside to smell the blossoms of flowers and view the site of nature at its best. Divert your friend's attention to light moments and fun. Am pretty sure, your bestfriend will be lightened for a while. Most importantly, inspirational songs and words can uplift your bestfriend's thoughts and aspirations.

I can sense that you are both in your early or mid teens. Then, your bestfriend's parents were absolutely right to be strict. Tell her that she has still a long way to go. That boys can wait till she reaches the age of majority. Enjoy your youth.

Just tell her that you understand she's hurting and that hopefully her parents had good reason to cease her dating and that if it's meant to be then maybe when she's allowed to date again she can see him then. Tell her that you guys can go out together instead and hang out.
