Our body runs on 7 hour to 8 hour sleep cycles. Sleeping over that or napping for too long puts you in a deep sleep cycle and you feel groggier waking up. It is best to only nap no longer then a half an hour. It will refresh you more.

I don't know but I'll give you my best guess.
I think all of us do have a internal clock. I have to wake up at 7AM everyday or else I'm all out of whack the entire day--even though my kids sleep in until 8AM. It's like a routine that just gets messed up so that makes us lethargic and hard to take the change. It's just something we aren't used to so our body reacts like we need to sleep more. Maybe our body feels like we need to sleep for another 6 or however many hours we normally do. Good question and I hope you get your answer!

I don't. Maybe you do..but I don't. I can sleep up to 22 hours a day. That was my own personal record: 22 hours straight.

It throws your body off and it confuses it. It puts you in a deep sleep cycle.

I believe that your body gets use to waking up at a specific time and when you go over that limit it makes you more exhausted..

because our body craves the sleep, and naturally wants more of it when we're tired.
