How is your cv? Here in England we have free drop in centres that can help you develop a really good one and refine your jobsearch. If you have similar in LA then check em out. Also there are lots of books on the subject - go into your local library and type 'perfect cv' or 'interview techniques' into the booksearch. something along those lines should point you in the right direction.
I really wish you luck mate. I found myself in a similar situation once, but I found that a good cv is the key to getting an interview. And the more interviews you get the more likely you will get that job.
