Fear. As a general rule people fear what they do not know or understand. The Europeans feared the American Indians and did not understand their language or culture so instead of learning and listening and being open-minded they all but wiped them out of existence....as they did to many African tribes, the Incas in Mexico & South America, and the list goes on and on. From the begining of the Roman Empire to today man has fought and killed and overrun many cultures in the name "God" of "progress" or "power" or for land & wealth. Racism in the USA comes from the history of man and his inability to live and let live. The most important thing we can teach our children in every corner of the world on each and every street, house, apartment, trailer or tent is tolerance, compassion, and the love of mankind and the freedom to believe and live in the world. We all bleed red.

Racism has many causes but predominately we fear what we do not understand, We don't understand anything different from us and are immediate environment. I think racism is on a major decline because of the education factor. People understand the differences a bit more and are learning to cope or in some cases embrace the differences.

Envy, contempt, group comparison, and for some the need to socially stratify.. Some people will always want to feel like they are a part of the superior/noble class. Sadly, in every culture/country there is a group that is treated as the N!gger.

it rather is tough to respond to. it varies plenty with area, preparation, and social status. additionally, people in all hazard generally conceal it. finally, there's a great distinction between people b*tch approximately black or hispanic or jewish or in spite of people (jews of direction are very white yet white supremacists do no longer seem to confirm that, so mockingly shall we call them shade-blind, lol) and people who're intense approximately needing/attempting to do something undesirable. and the latter too varies. I even have user-friendly landlords who attempted to no longer lease to those hated communities, yet, mutually as unlawful, that's no longer somewhat as undesirable as desirous to assassinate the president or bomb a synagogue. the internet besides is packed with the main fabulous racist rubbish, so it fairly is for sure greater properly-user-friendly than some people thought it replaced into in the previous the internet's leveling (and connecting) consequence made it undeniable we've been fooling ourselves. the only racism i pay attention quite brazenly in real existence is between jews or hindu indians and muslims or christian arabs. a great sort of persons seem to no longer experience any could desire to conceal THAT.

Ignorance. Also sometimes people are offended by something someone of a different race has done and stereotypes that whole race based on what that one person did. Its stupid, yes, but I've seen it.

I personally don't think it's just one thing. I would say a combination of how a child is raised--ignorance--and plain anger.
