I think the distinction they make is one [ the egg] is a potential baby and the other is already a baby. In the same vein a surrogate is allowed to carry a baby for you . An egg [ either yours or a donated one] is fertilized [ with your husbands or a donors sperm ] and is carried by another woman [ who is paid for her service.] I don't understand how that is not selling a baby.

Yes there is a difference. Even though both Cells and babies are living one is already developed while the other is just one living organism that can't do much by itself. But people put prices on human life all the time; abortion, adoption, sperm and egg banks. My personal opinion I think life is priceless. But that's the world we live in.
