I started the Nuva Ring and it makde me crazy, I swear. I am moody, crying, depressed, unsure of everything. Like...psycho. Do I have to schedule another appointment with my OBGYN to get a new perscription? [it takes like 3 months, though!] And is there anything besides the Nuva Ring that you would suggest?

Yes. If you can talk to your doctor though without making an appointment (most doctors will have some type of answering service) do that and tell her about the side effects you are experiencing, and they might be able to call in a new prescription without you ever going in.

Because you are having problems with side effects I would definitely make another appt with the dr to discuss what is going on and see what other options you have. I am currently on Lo/Ovral and I really like it.

As for whether you need to make an appt to get a new script, it depends on the policy of the dr. Sometimes they will have it set up so that the pharmacy can call to make the request for the refill on the script.

I like taking Marvelon pills. At first my skin broke out and I gained weight, but I was back to normal within two months. I can shave my legs half as often as usual, my breasts grew a cup size and my periods are really short and light. The downside is that it's zapped my sex drive, but I haven't had any moodiness or gloominess.

You should schedule another appt to discuss the side effects of this drug...perhaps you need something else.
