Here's info on how to reset your iPod from Apple: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705.

It happens to mine all the time.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Good luck! :)

Yes, i have the same thing, same problem. Hold it down for a minute, then let go and hold it down for like 10 sec, and it will turn off.

Just let it be and put the hold on. It'll turn off all by itself and with the hold on it won't drain the battery that much.

Plug it back in to your computer and let it sync with itunes and then unplug it and try it agian. I know this is an annoying problem but this usually works. Or you can wait until it runs out of battery and recharge it. It should work then also.
