Yes you can. Although some vehicles require more cold cranking amps to start than others, as long as the battery has enough, you can use it.
One word of caution though; not all batteries have the negative and the positive posts on the same side. You need to be very cautious when installing a different sized battery, and make sure that you have matched positive to the positive cable, and negative to the negative cable.
Although you should use caution when handling batteries, contrary to the comments above, batteries cannot kill people, unless someone drops one on someone elses head.
Good luck.
P.S. Remember to seccure the battery well, so that it doesn't move around and cause problems.

Kind of - alot of folks are talking about the same voltage - they are all 12 volts unless it is a very old car on a 6 volt system - a proper fit is vital as the battery must be secure and you need to make sure that the cold cranking amp rating is appropriate for your vehicle - check your owners manual or call a dealership service center to find out which battery you need.

It depends on the make. I used to have a 1966 Volkswagen that ran on a 6 volt battery under the rear seat. If someone heavy sat over the battery, the car would not run. Also, some Fords have the poles reversed. When I used to sell car parts, these battery sizes would carry the F distinction to differentiate that it was for a Ford vehicle.

If you are referring to physical size of the battery, then no it doesn't matter. However the Cranking Amps must be the same or very close to the O.E. battery.

Different vehicles require different amounts of Cranking amps to turn over the starter. If you put a battery with insufficient amps in your vehicle it will have difficulty turning over or may not turn over at all.

Often you will not notice the problem until the weather turns cold. Cold temperatures slow down the chemical reaction inside the battery and therefore reduce the amount of amps that it can put out. That is why there is a Cold Cranking Amps rating on every battery as well. This number is always lower.

Just make sure to be careful when handling batteries. They have sufficient charge in them to injure you or kill you and they also contain sulfuric acid that can burn you badly.

I hope this information helps.

Contrary to one of the answers, a battery can blow up! It is not like a car bomb but the acid can then injure you. Most battery retailers have charts for the battery intended for your vehicle. The difference in your case would be cold cranking amps. The higher the number usually cost more and has the longest warranty.

If you are talking physical size, yes and no. A smaller battery can be put in as long as it can be secured properly in the bracket, a larger battery may not fit safely. If you are talking capacity, a higher capacity not only can be put in, but should be put in for more reliable winter starting.
