At the end of Stars Wars Revenge Of The Sith after Luke and Leiga are born they are separted. I never knew why they were separated after being both born unto Pad Mae. why were they separated?

To increase the chances that at least one of them would survive to adulthood. Their father was evil and the twins needed to be hidden from him. If he found one, he may not find the other, so long as they were separated.

Of course, hiding Luke with Anakin's stepbrother was kind of stupid.

If they were not separated, then the events of Episode 4, 5, 6 would be all wrong. HA HA

Although they were seperated in an attempt to keep them hidden - which doesn't make sense since Anakin doesn't even know she gave birth at all, let alone to twins - it also may have been because they didn't know anyone who really wanted two kids.
