Most doctors recommend to have a back-up method for the first 3 months in order to be worry free. Personally, I think you should take it at the same time everyday so that you have a steady level of hormones in your body (preferably at bed time to prevent nausea). The pill is very effective provided you take it daily and at the same time. Make sure you read the pamphlet that comes with them from the pharmacy. It has a lot of information that your M.D. may not have covered due to time constraints.

I'd read those directions if I were you - a lot's at stake, don't you think? The answer to your question's right in there. It depends on whether you're doing a Sunday start or not. It shouldn't be more than a week after you take your first pill.
