I saw a documentary on television, possibly talking about a photography book that shows people who do NOT have the same parent and might even come from different cultures but who looks absolutely identical. So, a person might be born in India and one in Russia but they just happen to look similar. Does anybody know what is the book called or maybe point me to the right resources?

dont really have a clue but heard this one once...

Doppleganger
Category: Human Enigmas

A double, an identical replica of a person. The idea behind this is that everyone has a Doppleganger, an identical copy of themselves somewhere in the world. If the person is good, then the Doppleganger will be evil and vice versa. It is even said that if the two should meet, then they will both perish.

Although there is no evidence that Dopplegangers exist, some people have actually reported claims of witnessing what they believe to be their Doppleganger. In all likelihood however, Dopplegangers are an aspect of myth only.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOlvQ

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

You can call them lookalikes or doubles but there are many other words used which are not so common.

The word, 'doppelgänger', is commonly used in the US. I prefer to use the word, lookalike.

I am not aware of any book on lookalikes with photographs of two persons looking almost identical but you can find many websites which will provide a lot of interesting information. Just enter the following search words in Yahoo Search.

celebrity lookalike

I did that and found an interesting site with photographs. They provide celebrity impersonators. for a fee

You may get a mild shock if someone in India complimented you by calling you a "duplicate" of a famous movie star.

There is a Hindi movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan called Duplicate. Another word used informally for a lookalike in Indian English is "carbon copy". In Calcutta, I heard school children using the slang "a dead spit" when referring to such a person.

When you visit some websites you might also find some stories on lookalikes published in some magazines.
