grudges can protect you because sometimes the person is really someone you aught not be around, but most of the time they hold you back. most of the time grudges seem to show immaturaty adn the inability to let go of the past.... all in all they generally arent good things but occasionally it can be very benificial

Holding a grudge against someone is a complete waste of time and energy. Holding onto anger from the past means you are still letting that person or those people control your thoughts and emotions. As long as you hold that grudge, you will never be able to put the past to rest and move forward in life.

As a rule I like to think to think I don't hold grudges, because I know they will make me sick but there are exceptions to the rule, grudges can protect me from harm because they set boundaries. If a boundary is set they can't walk over it so yes it would show them what my limits are, give me a stronger character and would be beneficial.

I once held a grudge for a year, my girlfriend broke up with me and married my best friend. they lied to me the whole time they were around.
When I was told the truth I started to heal. A grudge is a heavy weight to carry, I would not advise holding one, they can change your attitude toward others.

some offenses are unforgivable, and people have the right to hold those grudges. but if it gets in the way of daily life, its not really worth it. some people hold them to the point of obsession, and that is when you truly have a problem.

I hold them yes. My whole family does. Yes I can see where it helps draw limits. Yes there are things you have to set boundaries about. When they want to make faslse accusations about what I did and expect me to take responsibility for thngs I didn't even do. Sometimes you have to stand your ground.
