I don't know I think it's kind of like getting nervous around school principals even when you are their age or older. It's like we're afraid of being found guilty even when we know we haven't done anything. It's probably fear of authority.

If I didn't call them, I become terrified when I see the police. The reason: About 20 years ago, the police broke into my house while we were all asleep, rousting us all out of bed and holding us a gunpoint. When I became hysterical at the sight of my children spread out on the floor with shotguns pointed at their heads, they realized they had the wrong address. The officer in charge only apologized after I became so incoherent that I could no longer speak or stand up. I realize that this is just a very, very bad experience coming at me fast-forward from the past, but it will haunt us all for the rest of our lives.
Poor people often fear the police, because often a traffic fine for something as insignificant as a broken mirror or burnt-out headlight can end up costing them more than a month's rent, thereby causing them to either go to jail and lose their job, or lose their homes.

Normally, there is no reason to be afraid of them. The only time the police should be a concern is when evidence of corruption, drugs, and cover ups are involved in protecting various individuals above the law who are within the police force or associated with the police and are being protected because they may be considered as popular or good friends- like, say, a radio station with a particular person or a number of individuals fooling around illegally and hacking into computers and other activities- that would be conspiracy, breach of trust, illegal invasion of privacy without conscent, and various other charges (over 10 years in jail)!

Apparently when I drive through Illinois I am a criminal because I don't wear my seatbelt. The reason I don't wear my seatbelt is because I don't like the stupid thing touching me. The new saying for a America should be " The Land Of The Free To Do What Your Told" . The laws are oppressive and unconstitutional and that is why normal people that have their own conscious thoughts are scared of the police, because we know we a slowly loosing all freedom, and they can do whatever they want.

I think it's the fact that not all polices are really here to protect and to serve we take the instincts of the past allegations of what polices did and use that as the way we see polices today. Not all people were really treated with respect from polices but we can only feel this way if treated that way so what I'm saying is We as in people feel that polices are not here really to serve and to protect if they were there would be more protection where it is needed instead of more polices sitting at a desk eating donuts and drinking coffee all day.

There are criminals in the world not necessarily the people afraid of the police but sometimes the police themselves as proved by those who have been caught and convicted.... This realization of the innocent being falsely arrested is one good reason for fear of the police . What do you think when DNA evidence frees an innocent person after serving twenty years in prison for a crime they had absolutely nothing to do with ...? The innocent have sufficient reason to fear the police also even if it's one percent, no one wants that lottery ticket!

Sounds like a guilt issue, but some officers abuse authority and will pull someone over for,too many people in the vehicle(especially teens),long hair,a wrong color dew rag on the head,or being the wrong race in the wrong neighborhood even when innocently driveing through on a main road. They can always come up with some bull poop reason they stopped the vehicle. For every 10 good officers ya get an occasional bad seed who has a i am god attitude but in time they get what they deserve.

cops are generally referred to as a separate breed of people some of course join the police force thinking they can possible make this a better world for as many as they can, but, as rule after they be come cops they listen to other cops and the people don't like or accept them as they do other people so they tend to stick together and soon they don't think anyone is any good except other cops, in turn the seem to want to become the master instead of the servant, and most people do not trust them because even our forefathers warned us about our gov, and told us the gov, would become our worst enemy, and the cops are the enforcement arm of the gov, the Bible speaks of some will be turned over to a reprobate mind, meaning when some one doe's wrong so many times it becomes second nature and don't bother their consciences,so to solve a crime they will place the blame on who ever they can, and our judical system is so dirty they will convict and evenexecute people they know who is not guilty as they did in Illinois , and Los Angles, and the police have killed more innocent people in this country than the crooks have in the last 10 years, so are you scared of them , you damn right I am.

most people drive a few mph over the speed limit, and most people are aware of this as they do it. if you're speeding, and you know it, and you know that cops are out to preserve the law and make sure that it is obeyed, then of course people are going to hit their brakes. if you're a law abiding citizen when you drive, there's no reason to be afraid of them. yes, there are corrupt cops out there who can find SOMETHING to pin you for, but I think that these cops are few and far between, at least in the area that I live in.
