Is crime as bad in your country as it is in the US? I mean, where I live, it's not that bad, but every time I watch the news, its like the whole country is nuts. Thanks to our wonderful reporting system, we barely hear anything about another country except the one's we're at war with.

gday from Australia. well i hope it stays that way. the crime in this country is starting to get worse all the time and the time dost fit the crime. Australia like a lot off other countries are influenced by America because if you don't do what America says the **** hits the fan. i mean that in a way as in the stock market, trade, political gain and greed. America is trying to unite all countries together in the wrong way

There is a lot of crime too, it's just different. We're not at war with anyone. Over here is more like drug traffic, or a murder here and there, some thefts, missing children, stuff like that... But i've known the types of crimes that are made in the U.S., and they do seem bigger and nuttier than anything that i have known to happen in my country. I do feel like north americans can be crazier when it comes to crime. And that is without even considering all the war issues.

Can't you look at the news sites online, though?
I know some countries have regimes that block and/or censor news, but the US doesn't do that?

I was at a funeral last week (a friend's father, yes a natural death!), and at the service, one thing stood out.

"The great thing in this world is that good news about good people is so normal that it very rarely makes the front page. He would have appreciated this, he lived his life well."

It kind of helped us with our loss. Hope this helps.
