One is no better than the other. They are both seeds of knowledge, however it is WISDOM that causes them to grow and even blossom; the amount of wisdom applied determines how big and beautiful the bloom is. Many successful people today never received a college degree, but they applied wisdom to their trade/hobby and have come out on top. Be advised that in this day no job is secure, so If you can get them both(a degree & a trade)...Do it!

In this day and age, most people learning a trade are making better money than those with four year college degrees.

That depends on what degree, and trade you are talking about. I know an insulator that made 132,000 dollars last year, grant it, he worked 50 to 60 hours a week, although it is hard work but that is good money. I also know an accountant that went to school for four years, and she made 35,000 last year.

Neither is better. one is only better if you put your heart and hard work in it, be it a trade or a degree.

Depends on which degree--and which trade--and, for that matter, what one's aptitudes are.
