We have all heard of people saying.."oh just picture them in there underwear" I DONT suggest this. It will probably will makeyou lose track of your dance or whatever your doing. I have been in dance for 8 years and i always get it. I do this:
You only have one chance to show people what you are good at so just do it and jump it!
another, is once you start you realize everything is okay, so just go with the flow. I hope this helps!

Don't do those things like picturing the audience in their underwear. That just makes you even more nervous. But no one can really tell you how to handle your own version of stage fright, because you are you. However, you shouldn't have anything to feel shy about. If you know what your doing, do it! Some people would probably kill to be where you are. Don't take advantage of that!

I overcame my stage fright by using my fear to make my performance better. It is a natural part of acting to feel nervous before a show...to get that butterflies feeling, the sweaty palms and everything that comes with performing infront of a lot of people.....if you dont feel this then you are never going to be a good performer. Even the best actors get nervous, instead of letting it stop u from doing something you enjoy you should use it to your advantage and make your performace better.

I have always been like that, but yet, I always want to the center of the crowd. (go figure) I've always thought that this behavior was in your head. You get up on the stage and your palms start sweating, butterflys go crazy in your stomach, and then you feel like your gonna puke. What I did was change my way of thinking. Instead of thinking "they're all gonna laugh at you" just think "they're gonna want you to give an encore." I don't know for sure if this will work for you, but it did for me. Good Luck!

I had to perfrom over and over until this went away and even sometimes, I still get it. It has to do with a feeling of not being prepared enough for me.
I would also get really into what you are saying or singing. Being really in character will help you.

well i use to be like that.. i started workin in a hoetel. i was a desk clerk. and i kinda just learned how to talk to stragers. and now it doesn't bother me to meet new people. i'd say if ur wantin to learn to get on a stage best thing to do is. go to like a bar or something and sing in front of people. if ur bad people will just think ur super drunk. lol. but u just have to push urself. and true u'll feel like a fool but w/ time it'll come to ya. best of luck.

practice practice practice....you then build confidence. Also concentrating on select people in the audience helps instead of being overwhelmed by trying to talk to everyone. Just start small (amounts of people) and build your way up.

a great way to evercome stage fright is to let the lights get in your eyes. you really can't see anyone. also, if you can try to focus eye contact with one or 2 really comfortable faces. i always really got into my own world up there and pretended i was somewhere else.
