I think in my perfect world, 75% of the people on Earth would be studying the origins of the Universe.

Ugh, the simpletons are taking this to literally. The meat of the point is that nothing else is important, nothing.

wtf, you think a doctor is more important than finding out the origins of the universe? Godamn I wish people would evolve quicker.

Yeah, great idea.

Besides having not enough teachers to teach our children how to study the origions of the Universe..

We would live in squallor because there wouldn't be enough Janitors.

We would be starving because there wouldn't be enough farmers.

You wouldn't have clean water, because there wouldn't be enough people running water treatment faculitys.

There would be Anarchy, because there wouldn't be enough police or people to make laws.

You wouldn't be able to be treated for illnesses or accidents, because there wouldn't be enough Doctors.

And there wouldn't be enough of anything that requires people to be employed and doing something else, besides studying the Universe.

Some people just aren't intrested, and quite honestly, that's their right. We need those people too.

How egocentric can you be?

Simpletons? Try expressing your point clearly, instead of just assuming everyone can read your mind.

Even your point is moronic. In a perfect world, Communism works, but it's not perfect and.. quite honestly, I don't think anyone could agree on what a perfect world would look like anyhow. So, maybe in a perfect world, people can do whatever they want to instead of everyone finding interesting that YOU find interesting.

Like I said, how egocentric can you possibly be?

Also, you meant to say 'Simpletons are taking this TOO literaly.'

You simpleton. :D

As an astrophysicist, I can say that it's about the LEAST important profession ever. Sure, it's cool, and fun, and everyone wants to know about the universe, but I don't think my profession is nearly as important as say, a surgeon or doctor. We have to survive as a species first if we ever want to use the results of our knowledge.

The origin of the universe is pretty irrelevant when we cannot manage our lives or our problems in this world right now in this moment. Knowing the ultimate truth about the origin of things (which we never will) won't help us at all.
