I like Opah (there's 3 locations I believe). Great food. Chic, hip but not too pretentious atmosphere. The prices are reasonable.
You must try their tower of sweet potato chips!

If you're going for cool & casual, downtown Fullerton is great....my personal favorite is The Twisted Vine for a drink & appetizer, Roman Cucina, Heroes's or Cafe Hidalgo for dinner, & Slide Bar or Stubriks for music & after dinner partying. However-if you're not into North OC and want a cool date atmosphere-I would check out the various bars & restaurants in Huntington Beach-definitely very popular right now!

Opah is nice. Great food and drinks. I like the one in Rancho Santa Margarita best. Houston's in Irvine (near the 405) is cool, but always very busy. If it's too busy, try Jackshrimp across the street. The best shrimp ever!! French 75 is very cool, too (there is one in Tustin and one in Fashion Island in Newport Beach). It's more expensive sister is Chat Noir in Costa Mesa. Yummy food and great atmosphere!

Great question. If you like sushi, check out Bluefin, the highest zagat rated restaurant in the OC. Also, Taleo is excellent and inexpensive. Il Fornaio is pretty in the day time. Good luck!

Go to downtown Fullerton (Harbor Blvd & Commonwealth) there are all types of restaurants like steakhouses and sushi restaurants...you'll find something that you like for sure.
Also, there are awesome bars and nightclubs in walking distance from wherever you eat for after dinner fun!

Stadium Brewery in Aliso Viejo. It has great food, and wonderful drinks! It has a fun, cool atmosphere. My boyfriend and I love eating there.

Chomp in Fullerton. It is by far the best. It's like Bennihanna's, but cheaper. Great drinks and sushi. But other stuff too.
