Absolutely. You can interchange Synthetic with normal at any time. Its the weight and rating of the oil your cant interchange by much.

How many miles did you put on the engine withe the regular oil? How many with the synthetic? If the car was run mostly with regular oil, switching to synthetic really didn't do anything for you exept cost more since the engine is already used to regular and switching back will be no problem. If you only used regular oil for engine break-in-(first 2000-3000 miles) and changed to synthetic right away, you should keep using synthetic, since the engine is used to that now.

With regular oil you change every 3 months and with synthetic it is every 6 months. So why change back. Synethetic in the long run saves you money on gas and engine wear.
If you gotta change back you can change back. What i tell everyone with regular oil, is to take two consecutive fillups and do the miles per gallon bit. Then change to synthetic oil. Wait about a 1000 miles and then do the gas fillup and check the miles per gallon. You should see an increase and with the higher gas prices you should see some savings. Remember you have to do two regular oil changes to one synthetic oil change. If you figure the money you save on gas, you will be like me and never go back to regular oil.
Unless you figure out the costs you will not realize what the synthetic oil will save you. And if you take a long trip, then you will really save money on long trips.

you can change or interchange at will. regular motor oil that is a good variable viscosity (10-30) will be as serviceable as a synthetic and cost a tremendous less amount of money.
you only change oil to get the dirt out,not because of the lubricating qualities.

I'm with Monotono, What's the deal? You can safely go 5,000 miles between changes and your motor's in heaven while using synthetic. I could list ten reasons why it's a surperior product because I've answered this same question fully three times tonight and I'm getting tired.

I work at jiffy lube and yes you can. If you have a performance engine, don't or if you have a tendency to go more than the 3,000 mile mark often. the reason why is cuz in conventional the molecules break down much quicker. I use synthetic blend and go up to 5,000 most of the time and it does no damage to the engine. and if you have an engine with more than 75,000 stay with that or go with high mileage for the same reason as one the engine hits that mile mark, it works harder

Its better to stay with regular oil if you have small leaks but if you want a better oil go with sythetic blend. Using full synthetic will make the leaks worse. Its not the oil that starts these leaks but that full sythentic doesn't clump up with dirt like regular oil which blocks some small leaks you might have.

If you're using synthetic now, you can go 2 to 3 times the miles between changes, than with refined oil...............you can change back, but why oh why would you choose to????????????
To answer your question, of course you can switch back.

My understanding is you can only use synthetic if you used it from day one or you can have engine problems.
